A Guide to Dog Pregnancy.

You need to have the most advanced tools for breeding dogs so that they make the work easier, suitable and convenient. This is good for managing different breeds of dogs especially those who are pregnant. Dogs are pregnant for about sixty-three days. This period is measured from the day they release their eggs until that day they give birth to their puppies. This period is divided into three trimesters which are twenty-one days each. The signs of pregnancy may include the gain of weight, morning sickness as well as tiredness which may lead to poor appetite.

The big belly is usually noticed during the last few weeks. It is good to consult with a vet but make sure you monitor the signs during the nine weeks of the gestation. Dogs react differently when pregnant. The three ways that you can use to tell that your dog is pregnant are explained below.

Watch out for early pregnancy signs and symptoms. It can be tough to establish whether a pet is expecting during the first trimester of gestation. Again there are some features which lead you to know whether your dog is expectant or not. After approximately twenty-one days after the day of successful mating, your dog will have white gums for several days, and then it disappears. This is the time the fetus starts attaching itself to the walls of the uterus. Your dog is also likely to start experiencing morning sickness for a period of seven to fourteen days.  Read more here!

Additionally, as a keen observer, you will be able to notice some physical changes in your dog when it gets pregnant. Some of these changes will be seen in the nipples. They will change their color that is become pinker than usual. They will also appear swollen as normal. During the fourth and the fifth week of pregnancy, the belly of the dog starts filling out, and the waist thickens. The belly also appears distended and becomes rounder.

If up to the three weeks of the gestation period of your dog you are still not sure whether it is pregnant or not, then you need to observe its behavioral changes. The dog will appear so tired and ever sleepy than before. The dog will find it uneasy to walk around due to the pregnancy at its last trimester. The dog at the same time might likely start eating fewer amounts of food and consequently may lose appetite completely. Such a dog will opt to stay alone and turn quieter than before.
